Joshua Gillis
Undergraduate Research Assistant
Hello, I'm Josh. I am an undergraduate research assistant and fourth-year aerospace engineering student at the University of Florida. My research is focused on measuring instabilities and extreme flow properties using compressible multiphase flow physics.

I have a deep passion for space travel and exploration, and I intend to pursue a career in spaceflight after graduate school. My current research connects strongly to hypersonic flow, which can be used to predict the effects of hypersonic flight on spacecraft both within our atmosphere, and in the environments of other planets. Understanding the possible physical effects of rainstorms and dust clouds on a high-velocity vehicle is imperative to ensuring mission success and the protection of scientific equipment and human lives.
